Privacy Policy — Lumina: The Loom of Light

Krim Developments · App: com.krimdev.lumina (Android) · Effective: July 4, 2026

Lumina: The Loom of Light ("Lumina", "the app") is a puzzle game designed for children and families. We built it to collect as little data as possible. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what the app does and does not do with data. It is written to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU GDPR (including its protections for children, "GDPR-K"), and the Google Play Families policy.

The short version

Data the app processes, and why

WhatWhyWho processes it
Anonymous gameplay events (e.g. "a stage was cleared", "a hint was used") tied to a random install ID To understand which puzzles are too hard or too easy and improve the game PostHog Inc. (analytics, servers in the U.S.)
Crash reports (technical stack traces, device model, OS version — no personal data, no user IDs) To find and fix bugs Functional Software Inc. dba Sentry (crash reporting)
Purchase tokens for in-app purchases (no name, no card details — payment is handled entirely by Google Play) To deliver and restore purchases Google Play Billing and RevenueCat Inc.
Basic, non-identifying device information during optional rewarded ads To serve child-safe ads and prevent fraud Google AdMob (see "Advertising" below)

What we never collect

The app has no fields to enter a name, email, or any personal information. We do not collect precise or approximate location, contacts, photos, audio, browsing history, health data, or biometric data. We do not build advertising or behavioural profiles of any user, and we do not sell or share data for advertising or marketing purposes.

Advertising

Lumina shows only optional, rewarded videos: a child chooses to watch a short video to earn an in-game bonus, up to a small daily limit. Ads are served by Google AdMob, a network self-certified for the Google Play Families program, and every ad request from Lumina:

How Google processes ad requests is described in Google's privacy documentation.

In-app purchases

The app offers optional in-app purchases and a subscription, all processed by Google Play. A purchase can only be completed after passing a parental gate designed for adults. We never see payment details; we only receive an anonymous confirmation token so the purchase can be delivered and later restored.

Children's privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K)

Lumina is designed for mixed audiences including children under 13 (US) / under 16 (EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The random installation ID and the events attached to it are not linked to any real-world identity, are used only for the internal purposes described above (analytics, crash fixing, purchase delivery, child-safe ad serving), and are never used for behavioural advertising or profiling.

Because there are no accounts, deleting the app removes the install ID from the device, and no data we hold can be traced back to your child. Parents and guardians may still contact us at any time to ask questions, request a copy of the events associated with an install ID, or request deletion of analytics records.

Data retention

Anonymous analytics events and crash reports are retained by our service providers for up to 12 months and then deleted or aggregated. Purchase records are retained as long as required to support purchase restoration and by financial regulations.

Your rights (GDPR / other privacy laws)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to processing of personal data. Note that because the data described above is anonymous and not linked to any identity, we are generally unable to associate stored events with a specific person or device. To exercise any right or ask us anything, contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

If we change what the app collects or how it is used, we will update this page and the "Effective" date above before the change ships in an app update.
